Welcome to The Southern Monogram!

Welcome! I'm so glad that you are here! Let me start by introducing myself.
My name is Virginia and I am the owner/designer behind The Southern Monogram. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, an entrepreneur, a boss, and so much more! I married my high school sweetheart soon after graduating college and we have since had two adorable kids.

As much as I love my kids, husband, and staying at home, I am always feeling a longing to do something else. In high school and college, I worked off and on for a mom and pop gift boutique and really came to enjoy the industry. I could always see myself owning my own gift boutique that presented unique gifts and personalized items to its customers. My first experience with embroidery started when I received a small embroidery machine for Christmas. It didn't take long before I needed a larger machine with a larger stitching space. The following summer, with the blessings of my amazing husband, we purchased my 6-needle machine and began The Southern Monogram.

Since I worked full time, TSM was only a small hobby that I kept going when I could. After having my daughter, we moved from the sunny South to the Midwest. TSM suffered a loss of my attention. It was always in the back of my mind but I wasn't putting in as much effort into it as I could have been. Now that we lived in the Midwest, I was able to stay at home with my daughter and I kept up with my orders coming through Etsy but didn't push the business.

This past April, we were blessed with our second child, a son. My kids and husband are my life but I still have this longing to do more.

Which brings me here, to the right here and now. There is research being done to find my little niche in the Midwest. What does the Midwest need from a store? Do you need another gift boutique? Do you need a little Southern flair? What kinds of unique gifts are you looking for? What kinds of things will you want to buy to pamper yourselves?

What can The Southern Monogram bring to the Midwest?

And so begins the effort to find a niche in a new(ish) market. With this effort, I will be adding new product lines. Some lines will be made for personalization, others will just be gifts that you can purchase and go without waiting for something to be personalized. There may be some rebranding that occurs with new fonts, new colors, new wrapping and new labeling. I am excited to see where this year takes TSM and I'm excited for you to be a part of this journey!
